     I have 16 years of Systems Administrator experience. I've worked in this field both as a civilian as well as a member of the US Air Force. I managed personnel and training for the Network Control Center (NCC). I am experienced in troubleshooting computer and network problems, managing servers, and training technicians to troubleshoot and repair problems in software, hardware and the network. Responsibilities:

I maintained proper access, permissions, and vulnerability levels using FoundStone, Retina and Gold Disk to scan machines and then hardened them to meet security standards by editing the registry, setting permissions on files and folders, starting and stopping services, setting local security policies as well as group policies for computers that are on domains. I also maintained servers by adding and removing users as needed, set access permissions on files and folders, update software, and running system checks using BurnIn Pro to assess the servers hardware health. I installed software and upgraded hardware on local users computers. I setup local users profiles including shares, permissions, network drives and network printers. I also performed IA tasks such as accreditation scanning and hardening.

Data and Voice Communications Technician

Responsibilities:

I created, maintained, and administered data and voice networks for over 50 locations on the range. This included making cables (Single-mode and Multi-mode Fiber, T1, DS3, RG58, RG59, and Ethernet) for every device and location. I was also responsible for troubleshooting and repairing video, radio, and data problems with all communications equipment on the range. I set up both new and temporary sites to the network and supplied them with the equipment that was needed.

Responsibilities:

I managed servers on multiple legacy networks both classified and unclassified, maintained system security on servers and local users computers to make sure they were IAVA compliant. I Backed up and restored systems using Back Up Exec 10. I was also responsible for troubleshooting and repairing computer problems with software, hardware, permissions, and connectivity. I setup and configured VTC and AV units for conferences and presentations. I created users, shared folders, and network drives for personnel on many of the legacy networks and Connected legacy and base networks to work together.

Small Computer Support (Help Desk / Computer, Network Technician)

Responsibilities:

I managed troops, schedules, training, and updates given to the commander. I was responsible for troubleshooting network, server, and computer problems over the phone and in the field. I Setup and maintained the network for the Joint Red Flag and Blue Flag projects. I maintained IAVA compliance and all servers and workstations. I setup servers, switches, and routers to be used in the field for deployable communications, opened tickets using Remedy, trained troops in server and network administration as well as in hardware and software support. I was also responsible for supporting the network and computer problems of deployed units around the world including seven tenet units in South America.

Small Computer Support (Base Level Computer Technician)

Responsibilities:

I was a Base Level Technician, put in charge of training and managing all small computer technicians for every squadron. I was responsible for the maintenance of 7000+ devices including all computers, printers, PDA's, fax and copy machines. I was Dell computer and HP Printer certified. I was responsible for Spinning up the Defense Messaging System (DMS) when the Air Force started using the Common Access Card (CAC) system and updating all systems security across the base. I also remotely managed updates and patches using Microsoft SMS to push patches and anti-virus updates.

Responsibilities:

I worked as a helpdesk technician taking calls and troubleshooting problems over the phone as well as opening tickets using Remedy for the small computer support technicians. I created operating procedures for the helpdesk as well as the helpdesk troubleshooting manual used for training all helpdesk technicians. I was responsible for training all new and existing helpdesk technicians due to the fact that I was the only one that had experience as a helpdesk technician. I monitored the network health using HP Open View. I also Tracked the status of tickets using Remedy and created reports of calls taken, tickets opened, tickets closed, tickets updated, and network health for the commander.

Responsibilities:

I built all the servers on the network (52). This included the PDC, Four BDC, eight exchange 5.5 servers later upgraded to exchange 2000, two Norton Anti-virus servers, SQL Server, two SMS Servers, Remedy Server, Two Veritas Back Up Exec Servers, 9 file servers, Ten disaster recovery servers, three Remote Access Servers, SIPR PDC, two SIPR BDC, four SIPR Exchange 5.5 servers, two SIPR Veritas Back Up Exec servers. I also created users and managed permissions for all users, groups, mailboxes, files, and folders. I pushed all software and updates to users in the network using MS SMS, backed up and recovered all file servers, exchange servers, and domain controllers. I used Norton Anti-Virus to scan incoming mail, outgoing mail, and files on the servers.
